Shortly after I got home today, I dropped in on my friends at Stealth Fusion to leave a short trip report:
My thoughts….it wasn’t the numbers as much as who these people were and why they were there. I did the 2005 DC (very angry and Bush hating) war protest, and all together a different crowd. Oh, I never saw many minorities at that either, despite how the msm and lefty blogs paint those racist right wing extremists
The 9-12 crowd were so much more fun, energetic and just love this country so damn much. Especially at the Hyatt Regency bar *hic* with a group from Texas and a group from Long Island, it was more like a family reunion with the whole country!
The most important question, where are you from? Then you hug, then you thank each other for being there. You just felt the heart and soul of America, a very bonding experience.
I met people who were on buses for 16 hours, marched, then got back on those busses. They would do it again! And bringing more friends next time!
Favorite chant had to be “Oh-bama, Oh-bama, Hey, Hey, You Lie”
Also, “We own the Dome, we’re here to collect the rent” and “Can you hear us now”
National Park Service suggests this is the largest gathering ever for D.C….and the nicest, best behaved
I only saw two counter-protestors, matching young men on bikes wearing helmets and navy blue outfits with Obama-Biden Riders over the Obama symbol on their chest. I walked over to them with my little Culpepper flag and said “hi, good to see you here, I’m a Democrat too”, then I waved off They looked like Hitler Youth, but I was nice and held the thought.
I heard there was a team from ACORN heckling the crowd, but didn’t see them. I would have asked them if I could buy a house to start a “puppy mill”
I heard there were hundreds of solidarity protests around the country too? I’m off to find them, as a I know it’s well over 2 million if you count them.
And no, I’m not a Republican freeping right-wing nutjob extremist for having participated, or a DINO….. I’m an American
So much too share, so little in the (no surprise) MSM. Here’s the cook’s tour:
I think this gathering should be appreciated as the extremely important historical event that it is. This is the first great conservative anti-statist manifestation in American history. The conservative movement, which developed in the post-WWII, Cold War environment has now fully matured into the most significant political movement of the 21st century. I believe that this day could be referred to in the not too distant future as the day that changed America. This was the day the great silent conservative majority finally found its voice.
There were notable differences though, in the behavior of these attendees. Although the legend of Woodstock is that there was a friendly atmosphere of camaraderie, the truth is that most people were there for the drugs, sex and rock and roll. Today in D.C. there was a true kinship amongst these people based on shared values and intellectual understanding of what America is and how its future is imperiled by big radical government.
Calderaâs disappearance under the Obama bus does not and should not end questions about the origin of the p.r. photo-op missionâs request, who participated, how it went down, and where protocol failed. And remember: Someone was planning a second flyover photo-op in Washington, D.C.
Hmmm, think the WH is peeing down our backs and telling us it’s raining? You betcha’ !
So if this was a GREAT photo shot was Louis Caldera going to get all the credit????? of course not..then why did he take all the heat from a transparent dictator?
Someone needs to advance Louis Caldera on a tell-all book deal to get the real truth since this âtransparencyâ will never be reported.
Not Your Sweetie also uncovered Obama’s “WMD” moment from the New York Daily News:
âSasha and Malia arenât here tonight because theyâre grounded,â Obama said. âYou canât just take Air Force One on a joy ride to Manhattan. I donât care whose kids you are.â
Hey, Mr. Obama, ha-ha-not. I found that joke very unfunny because I think your daughters shouldn’t be used to cover your ass. A WH staffer “conveniently” lost his job, thousands of New Yorkers crapped their pants. Ha-Ha? My old pals and dysfunctional family on the looney left shudder at the thought Air Force One and WMD’s-under-the-desk could be compared, since no one’s died during the PBO schtick? Really!? Last I checked, Code Pink is still on your lawn, and I don’t think they’re picking up after BO, Jr ?
Comments Off on Obama’s “Mission Accomplished” Moment ?
Just how badly does Obama want this stimulus passed? Many questions about how a homeless woman gets, not only a front row spot at an Obama “tent revival”, but asks a question and gets this close to him…..?
You know you cannot just âenterâ an Obama town hall meeting. They give out tickets in advance. Who gets the tickets? People who stand in line and wait. Who tells people when and where Obama will appear next? Certainly not the Secret Service who has to protect this man. Not the MSM, who are too busy telling us how great he is without asking any critical questions.
Sooooo⌠how does a 61 year-old homeless woman whoâs living in a pickup truck with her son JUST HAPPEN to get a ticket so she can VERY PUBLICALLY ask Prez. Obama for a HOUSE? Anyone? Who pushes her up on stage? Sheâs right at the front of the crowd. Did she just happen to get a seat there?
Now, within moments of this happening, itâs trumpeted all over the news. AND, surprise, surprise, the wife of State Representative Nick Thompson, Chene Thompson JUST HAPPENS to have a spare house worth $150,000 lying around, so she GIVES it to this unemployed, homeless, living-in-a-truck woman. Theyâve been homeless for âmore than a yearâ, which coincidentally, predates the current housing and banking crisis by quite a while. How did they learn about the âObama Town Hall and Tent Revivalâ? Were homeless people simply rounded up? Did someone pre-canvas the area in search of âgreat, tear-jerking storiesâ? Of all the people in the audience, SHEâS one of the ones Obama chooses to ask a question?
BTW-the taxes which will be charged on this âfree houseâ will bankrupt the poor woman. Taxes are levied based on the homeâs assessed value, not on the basis of it being a âfree giftâ.
On a second, double-snort, the last guy who gets to ask a question JUST HAPPENS to be a 19-year-old kid of Hispanic descent whoâs going to Edison State College (free tuition perhaps for in-state students?) and has worked at McDonalds for FOUR AND A HALF YEARS. By my math, he started working there when he was 14! Florida child-labor law infraction, anyone? Now, having worked at McDs several times in my past I can say that they DO offer health care plans. You have to PAY for it, just like everyone else in the country does. Itâs OPTIONAL. Itâs not a God-given right.
âŚDo the Thompsons get to claim this as a charitable tax deduction against their (probably) considerable 2009 income? How many houses do they own?
Is there anyone left in the media who will ask these questions? Ever?
Probably not, but I feel Olbermann is cranking up a Special Comment with your name on it Erik E.
